All I Want for Christmas

Pardon me, Saint Nick, for there's a lot more than a pretty pony I want coming down the chimney this year...
ALL I WANT for Christmas (not too much to ask, right?):
1. My country to stop focusing so much on WORDS being said, rather than ACTIONS being taken. Yes, freedom of speech will be provoking as it's a melting pot of fact and opinion running rampant across the headlines. Pay no mind, stop believing everything you hear and read.
2. Friends I've lost touch with to not be intimidated by re-connecting again (& vice versa). I'd like to think that our long-lost past was not an honest waste of time. If it was...well, I wish you well in whatever you're doing, and thank you for the memories.
3. People to stop using social media as a valid resource in researching someone's success, happiness, and overall well-being. It's just not always accurate.
4. Religion and spirituality to not be a conversation we run away from or immediately spew hate upon...but rather an open discussion of beliefs, experiences, and false representation. The more we can understand each other, the healthier we can communicate.
5. To witness more random acts of kindness. What happens when we stop pushing each other down and start picking each other up? >>>> Domino effect.
6. To get comfortable with failing fast and failing often...not because of reckless/impulsive behavior...but for the sake of becoming fearless in the pursuit of new ideas or goals.
7. Let go of what I cannot control, and remain mindful of what I can control. Perhaps taking a moment at the end of each day to express my gratitude for what I do have will suffice.
8. I want to be less afraid of the phrase, "I love you." It carries so much importance and depth to me, that I almost feel it deserves a spectacular revealing when exposed the first time to someone. But now I find myself overthinking it too long while the feeling has already existed!!
9. Spend more "quality" time with the people in my life. For me that means having 100% of my attention in the present - no phone browsing, no distractions. Just pure company :)
10. A German spitz midget puppy.
That last one shouldn't be too difficult ;)
Yours Truly,
xoxo
